This picturesque valley is home to Lake Tahoe’s largest and most iconic ski resort, Palisades Tahoe, and the 1960 Winter Olympics at (then-named) Squaw Valley.
 
The lively base village, with shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars, is ringed by stunning granite peaks. One Valley to the south is the lesser-known Alpine Meadows. This is a quiet, forested residential area defined by Bear Creek and the Alpine Meadows Ski Area side of Palisades Tahoe. The feel is distinctly quiet relative to its neighbor. Homes can be found from a variety of decades, ranging in size from tiny condos to extra-grand lodges.
